Original Sweet TeaCreated in a small still on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, Firefly became the world’s first hand-crafted sweet tea flavored vodka. Keeping true to its Southern roots, Firefly is distilled four times, infused with tea grown on a plantation five miles from the distillery and blended with real Louisiana sugar cane. It tastes just like real sweet tea, but with an even sweeter kick! Imitators try to achieve the taste of tea with artificial flavors and you will instantly know the difference with one sip. The real stuff just tastes better!
Of course we can not ignore their Sea Island Rum!
Firefly Distillery, the creator of the Original Sweet Tea Vodka, is proud to introduce Sea Island Rums. The all natural rums are handcrafted at Firefly Distillery on Wadmalaw Island, one of the 33 Sea Islands in South Carolina. Sea Island Rums are sold exclusively in South Carolina and include three easy to drink products: Gold Rum, Spice Rum, and Java Rum.
Using sugar cane from South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana, then aging the rum in bourbon barrels creates a unique flavor for Sea Island Rums. A Lowcountry twist is key for Sea Island Rums, which is why we use sugar cane from famed Johns Island resident and Rosebank Farms owner, Sidi Limehouse. Each rum has its own distinct flavor and can be served over ice or mixed in your favorite cocktail.
Sea Island • Spice Rum is handcrafted using sugarcane from South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. We then add a blend of spices, including vanilla, to create the smoothest spiced rum with a kick.
Sea Island • Java Rum is handcrafted using sugarcane from South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana. We then infuse coffee and spices to create the ultimate spiced rum.
Sea Island Gold Rum
Sea Island • Gold Rum is handcrafted using sugarcane from South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana. We then age our rum in used Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels to create the most unique and tasteful Gold Rum available.
We will be spending a few days in between and in Both Savannah GA and Charleston SC, so we should be in close proximity to Firefly Distillery. Visit their websites and get a few good looking recipes for their rums as well: Firefly and Sea Island
As time approaches we are getting excited - can't wait to meet distillers, rum drinkers and everyone Down South!
