Tailwinds Distillery to Bottle their first Amber Rum

Seems our friends in Plainfield Illinois, have been busy... Well waiting - Busy I'm sure trying to keep 11 locations of Binny's supplied with their Taildragger Rum, as well as local restaurants, and thirsty customers; but also waiting for their first batch of amber rum that they have been holding in barrels since last year. Seems this weekend is the coming out party.

To quote Toby Beall from The Tailwinds Distillery Newsletter:
"We had planned to hit 2013 on the fly and that is exactly what we are doing.  In the December Newsletter I had said that we were close to pulling the amber rum out of the barrel. Well that time is here! Next Saturday the 19th we will be bottling the first batch and as promised it will be available exclusively to you on Saturday night, Sunday and Monday before we send it off to the stores. With that said, we are looking for 10 volunteers for our bottling party from 3-7 pm on Saturday. We will have pizza, music and of course rum. Email info@tailwindsdistilling.com if you would like to take part. We can only take the first 10."

Anytime you can bottle rum, play some music and nibble pizza -- Why not!!?  So, if you are going to be in the area, and are looking for something adventurous to do, why not visit the Tailwinds Hanger at 4912 s. Eastern Avenue Unit103Plainfield, Il 60544. Saturday and Sunday for a tour, visit, tasting of their new, Amber Rum. I am going to try and be there Sunday.... Should be a great time!
